Mesabi Trail 30th Anniversary Celebration
30 Years. 165 Miles. One Trail.
The Mesabi Trail is celebrating 30 years of adventures and the full completion of the 165-mile paved trail — and the surrounding communities are invited to celebrate. All events are free, family friendly, and open to the public.
30-for-30 Group Ride
1 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 12
Tower Depot Park
Free to attend
This 30-mile bike ride celebrates the trail’s 30th anniversary, featuring the new section of trail from Tower to Embarrass and back. Stick around for a celebration at 3 p.m., featuring food for purchase and live music. Hosted by Club Mesabi.
Official Mesabi Trail Ribbon Cutting
1 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 15

Free to attend
Celebrate the trail’s completion with an official ribbon cutting ceremony and hear from public speakers who were instrumental to the development of the trail. Enjoy refreshments and light appetizers.
In case of inclement weather, the ribbon cutting will take place at the Herb Lamppa Civic Center.

Enjoy coffee and pastries while you explore the history of the Mesabi Trail and hear from St. Louis and Lake County Regional Railroad Authority representatives. Commemorative items will be available for sale.
Tomassoni Tour

Free to attend after-ride parties
This fundraising event supports the fight against Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). Join us for free after-ride parties at 10:45 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 18, on Lake Street in Chisholm, and at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 19, at Giant’s Ridge, 6329 Wynne Creek Drive, in Biwabik.
