Wheel Passes

We’re Grateful for Your Support!

A wheel pass is required for anyone age 18 and older – using wheels on the Mesabi Trail (bicycles, inline skates, skate boards). Hikers, joggers, walkers and people with disabilities using wheel chairs & motorized carts are not required to purchase a pass. YES – E-bikes are allowed!

$20 – Annual pass (good for the current calendar year)
$10 – Three-day pass (any three days you choose, do not have to be consecutive)

There are three different ways to purchase your wheel pass:

1. You can buy your wheel pass online.
2. From one of our wheel pass vendors along the Trail (available April to October)
3. There are self-pay boxes (for 3 day passes) at entry point kiosks in these communities (from west to east) – Grand Rapids, Bovey, Calumet, Keewatin, Hibbing, Buhl, Mountain Iron, Virginia, Eveleth, Giants Ridge (near Biwabik).

Revenue from the sale of wheel passes is used to support the Mesabi Trail…thank you for YOUR support!
