Designated as the MN State Flower in 1922 - A "Showy Ladyslipper" patch grows east of Buhl blooming mid June to July. Flowers take 4-16 years for their first bloom and can live up to 50 years. It is illegal to pick the "Ladyslipper". Summer intern Jodi Schmitz in a patch of Ladyslippers near Buhl.
